Friends, it’s a good time over here!
First we had a fantastic string concert in Encinitas over the weekend, now I’m working hard on a new string / choir composition and the surf is coming with perfect summer weather. I’ll make this one quick.
I received a fair amount of friendly heckling regarding the photos of me and the gang dressed up in suits that ran in the gig email last week. Actually I hate wearing a suit and playing the guitar at the same time—everything gets tangled up. But some gigs just run smoother with the attempt at an elegant look. Of all of the comments I got, my friend Garry laughed at me but also took one of the photos into Photoshop and got his double vision boogie on. I dig it and I’m still laughing!

For this week I’ll be playing solo guitar tonight at the L’Auberge in Del Mar, on Thursday at the Roxy in Encinitas and then Saturday with a show first at the Encinitas Library during the day and then off to Harry’s with the Bob Magnusson trio in the evening. A long good day of sound! The Encinitas Library hit is called the Brasil Jazz Festa and it’s a full day of Brazilian jazz with 12 musicians and 3 sets of music.
