Hi Friends, a couple of weeks back we played a free concert with my string group at the Encinitas Library. A lot of folks came to the show and if you are one of them, we'd love to hear back from you via a quick email on how the experience was for you. This concert was funded by the City of Encinitas and the Mizel Family Foundation and they like to get feedback on how it's all working.

Here are a few questions:
How was the venue (Encinitas Library) for the concert?
What did you think of the music program?
Do you think the program appealed to people of all ages?
Do you have any suggestions for future music programs?

Thanks for doing this!

This fellow sketched me at the Encinitas concert and I think he really caught the vibe—the Einstein hair, my Birkenstocks, and the 2 necks!

It’s been an exciting week! Vocalist Dianne Reeves was here in the studio this week working with me on new material for her new recording plus new music for our upcoming shows at Lincoln Center in NYC in 2 weeks. What a thrill hearing her sing at SpragueLand!

I’ve had a couple of super fun concerts recently at some of the SD county libraries. These are great places for music with enthusiastic audiences convening in quiet listening spaces. Thanks to all of you that made it out to the PB show and the El Cajon concert!

Me digging on the setup at the PB Library last week. Beautiful art, beautiful space, and beautiful people.

On Saturday night I played with guitar legend Mundell Lowe at Harry’s in La Jolla. He has some magic chords with non-linear resolutions and wields them around freely. I loved being in the loop with him.

This was the scene at Harry's on Saturday night with Mundell on the left, Bob Magnusson in the middle and me on the right. Non-linear never sounded so good!

Coming up tonight it’s my trio with Duncan and Gunnar at the Calypso in Leucadia. This gig has been bringing out the hipsters of Encinitas! Last week the dude that was shredding in the surfing movie classic “The Forgotten Island of Santosha” stopped by and gave me a reprint of the movie. He spun some incredible surf tales plus enlightened me to the whole rundown on the hippy culture of Laguna Beach in the ‘70’s. It was a long and strange story but it was good to take in. I watched the movie when I got home and it reaffirmed the beauty in Gerry Lopez’s fluid surfing style. Good times and this kind of stuff only happens in Leucadia!

On Wednesday night I’m playing a FREE solo concert at the North University Community Branch Library. This is located in the UTC area. It’d be great to see you there if you’re free.

On Thursday night I’ll be at the Roxy in Encinitas. This is the last one for a little while because next week I’m heading off to New York. The next Thursday after that we’ll be playing Beatles music up at Mira Costa College so this week's hit is it!

Thanks for reading along. Hope to see you out there!
adios, P
