3/4 of a Fortune...

Friends, today was a good day. First off Bob Magnusson came over and we recorded some fixes for the new string record that we’ve been working on. Next, both of us zipped over to the ocean for a midday surf session. It wasn’t epic by any means but any day floating in the pacific sure beats working for a living. Next up, more studio work ironing out mixes with a great steel drummer. And now I’m just back from a dinner hang with my daughter at the Whole Foods in downtown Encinitas. It’s a classic scene with endless perfect food that normally would cost a fortune but because it’s Wednesday it’s just 3/4 of a fortune. That combined with my daughter’s company equals a good moment indeed.

And now I’m writing to you!

We had a couple of great Leonard concerts last week and we even garnered a nice review from our 98 Bottles hit. Check ‘er out…

Up for tomorrow night I’m returning to the Roxy in Encinitas for an evening of solo guitar travelogue. I’ll visit Brasil, New York City, Spain, Liverpool, Seattle (Jimi Hendrix), Del Mar, Encinitas, and the moon (that’s where I go when I get the loops kicked into gear and keep adding on more textures. Sun Ra put it bluntly, “space is the place”!). Come along for the adventure!

And last on the list for this week, I’m playing at Harry’s in La Jolla on Saturday night with Gunnar on bass and Lori Bell on flute. Lori and I go way back and it’s been a while since we played together. It’ll be nice to catch up on life and hear her fantastic music again!
