Hi Friends, after zipping through a record amount of gigs last week I’m digging the way this week has some air built into it. You ever heard that Sun Ra tune called “Space is the Place?” The Ra man knew where it was at and to have some extra real estate inside your brain to allow it to go feral every now and then sounds like a good idea to me. That’s how this week is flowing and I’m loving it!

Earlier in the week before I let my mind go wild, I drove to the downtown City Council meeting to accept an award along with Kevyn Lettau for our contributions of sharing music in San Diego over the last 30 years. The wonderful Donna Frye, who has been a friend and a fan for years, orchestrated this whole moment. Kevyn and I played a song and then posed for some pictures with Donna and according to the proclamation she read, April 27, 2010 was announced as “Peter Sprague and Kevyn Lettau Day” in the City of San Diego. How cool is that! Next week I’m running for President…of the Encinitas Surf Club…hah…

The music sounded really good in that mostly wood room. Fantastic acoustics! Hey, I know, let's record a CD there sometime.

Peter judging weather or not this is the right chord all the while the room was packed with judges. The Jazz Jury!
