Hello Good People, coming to you after a really inspired and busy weekend hanging out with the stringers from Orange County. We had 2 fabulous concerts with the String Consort group plus one bomb scare show thrown in for good measure. Thanks to all that made it out. We’re hoping to record the group and play more shows.

And speaking of more shows — I’m working the phone to drum up more concerts for the group. Do you have any ideas of places to play that I might not be thinking of? I welcome your thoughts and ideas. Let’s take this 7 piece entourage on the road…

Navigating some fairly charged sonic particles...

Tomorrow night, jazz guitar hero Jim Hall is playing with one of my favorite musos Geoffrey Keezer at the Neuroscience Institute in La Jolla. Geoffrey made it out to one of our string concerts and I was talking to him about the upcoming Jim Hall concert. He loves playing with Jim and has gained a lot of respect for how Jim loves SPACE in his music. It’s a good road to take. Check out Keezer’s interview on YouTube here to learn more about the angle they're taking with the duo concerts. I’m for sure going to be there and I’ve loved Jim’s playing over the years and have never had the good fortune of hearing him live. Hope to see you there and here are the details:

Also this week, our band Pass The Drum plays at Anthology on Sunday. We’ve got the whole crew dialed in plus Monette Marino-Keita is back in town and will be joining us. She has a new baby and some new grooves and I can’t wait! Together we’re playing Djavan, Edu Lobo, The Beatles, Caetano Veloso, Bruce Hornsby, Sergio Mendes, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, and songs by some surfer muso named Spray or Sprague or Sprouts….

Love ya, P
