Greetings Good People, coming to you via a slightly fogged up brain. I did a whirlwind drive to L.A. last night to play a show at the Blue Whale and as soon as the gig was over, I turned around and made my way through the moonlit sky back to the serenity of Encinitas. It was an ultra late night and then I got up early this morning to take Kylie to school. So I’m thinking, the best solution to defrag the RAM storage of my mind is to be submerged in 65 degrees ocean water with a 4-foot south swell running. All with the hope of restoring some intelligent thought and getting barreled!

Speaking of the Blue Whale Jazz Club, what a fantastic spot! It’s located in downtown Los Angeles and it has the perfect setup to listen to live music. The owner is a super kind fellow named Joon and it’s his mission to provide an uncompromising space for creative music to flourish. Kevyn Lettau tells me that he’s also a great jazz vocalist. We had a blast and can’t wait to do it again. You might check out their website and artist lineup to perhaps take in a future show. From Encinitas, the drive time was 1.5 hours so it’s not too far away.

The setup at the Blue Whale Jazz Club. The owner Joon studied architectural design and this space is good on the eyes as well as the ears.

For this week I’m connecting with bassist Bob Magnusson and drummer Duncan Moore to play some live music at the U.S. Grant Hotel on Wednesday night. We did this gig once before and it was a good hang.

On Thursday night I’m play my regular Roxy Restaurant solo guitar hit. With this warm weather consider taking in the sunset at Moonlight Beach and then falling by the Roxy for some great food and some 6 string sonic wizardry.

For Friday and Saturday nights I’m up in the Bay Area playing with jazz vocalist Dianne Reeves and her group. We’re playing in Napa and at U.C. Davis. It’ll be great to hear Dianne’s incredible sound once again.

To end out the week I’m taking the first flight out of S.F. on Sunday morning and getting back just in time to drive to the Ranch Bernardo Winery to play an afternoon hit with Kevyn and Gunnar. Hope to see you there, jet lag and all.

That’s it for now. The surf is up and the only reaon I'm going out is to clear out the cobwebs. Not! Cobweb clearage mixed in with the procurement of some fine aqua barrels.

adios, Peter
