Hi Friends, it’s been an inspiring time. I zipped out to Julian and had a fantastic solo concert to a full house filled with great spirit and enthusiasm. What a place out there in the mountains! First a cool music moment in the library and then I headed outdoors to a dark sky filled with a zillion stars and clean crisp air.

From there I winded down the mountain into the world of Gershwin and Cole Porter. Kevyn and I had a wonderful time in Encinitas playing classic jazz tunes on a rainy night. Kevyn sounded fantastic and her scat solo on But Not For Me was full on magic. Yeah! Thanks to all of you that made it out and we’re thinking we’ll do it again down the road sometime.

Kevyn getting sassy! This was during the vamp on Love For Sale and she really got the vibe going.

I totally dug the sound of my new Andy Powers nylon guitar. He's the same fellow that made my twin neck and I just got this new one dialed in. Killer sound and playability!

Tonight I’m heading to the Roxy to play solo guitar. Can’t wait!

Tomorrow night I’m heading to the SD Airport, Baggage Claim Area 2 to be exact, for a concert in one of the weirdest places we’ve ever played. I’ve done it before and it’s actually cool—playing music for all of the folks as they get off the plane for the weekend. They’re usually really happy to hear us and stoked that the work week is over with. Come out for a free show and even venture through the endless line at airplane security if all else fails.

I’ve got a bunch of shows planned for next week. It’s the Peter Sprague String Consort World Tour 2010! We’ve got 3 concerts in a row, one in San Diego, one in Temecula and one in Los Angeles. This might be as close as we get to multiple gigs in a row in this age of financial meltdown but we’ll take it! We rehearsed last night and we’ve added some new music into the fold. It’s sounding good.

Also at the end of next week we’ve got a show at the Tango featuring a young phenomenal vocalist from Boston named Emily Elbert. Check out her videos. More on this in next weeks gig email.

Stay well, stay warm, stay inspired, Peter
