Hello Friends, lately when I’ve been playing with Dianne Reeves in concert she likes to tell the audience that I’m a surfer and a hippy from California. She says that my stance in guitar playing is like the flow of a surfer. Two days ago Kylie and I went out in the ocean and she had her water camera with her and captured this photo of me dropping in on a mini wave. Check out my hand positions, it’s like I’m fingering the opening riff from Stevie’s “As”, getting ready for the gig even though I’m in the water taking it slow. I’m stoked to think that the two art forms (I think surfing might be an art too, what do you think?) kind of do a blendo factor in my world and the divisions between sonic waves and water waves dissolve away. All theoretical b.s. aside, the big deal is that I’m having fun!

I’m gearing up for some solo guitar music this Thursday at the Roxy in Encinitas. This week is a little lighter on the gig front and I’m loving the extra air to kick-start the machinery in getting my Wild Blue recording out into the world. More on this coming up next week.

Until then, hang ten good people and hope to see you at the Roxy, Peter
