Dear Good People, I write to you this afternoon as a super cold wind from the north is making it a little hard to speed type. The time to really cook on the keyboard is in the summer or in Cabo or in Kauai. Warm hands are happy hands!

We had a stellar Beatles show last week and thanks to all of you that made it out. It all went great and even the crash and burn episode on the interlude of “I’ve Just Seen a Face” was a memorable moment. I’ll never forget that image of us all bewildered on how to pull out of the three car pile up that we'd creatively crafted. Ah yes, there will always be another time!

This is us two weeks ago at Lincoln Center. (Peter Martin on the right). The photo just surfaced on FaceBook and I'm laughing at the extremely RED guitar in my hands. After my bad karma 2 broken neck guitar situation with the airlines last year I've been carrying on my nylon guitar and then making due with rental guitars. You get what you get!

Right now I’m off to Mesa College for an afternoon concert. Sorry I didn’t mention this one until now and I know by the time you get this note the musical notes will all be gone.

However, what are you doing tomorrow night? This is a long shot I know as it’s taking place in beautiful Hemet but we’re playing a show with my String Consort group. “Dr. Einstein’s Spin” will get an sonic spin and we’ll also feature the magic cello of Lars on “Mudra.”. We start tomorrow night at 7PM and if you think it could maybe work, please look below for the fine print.

This is a photo from the last time we played "Dr. Einstein's Spin." I'm in the green room mentally running through the complicated piece we're about to perform all the while trying keep my fingers warm enough to play fluidly. It's a little like running the high hurdles.

This Saturday night I'm joining my brother Tripp along with Bob Magnusson to play music at Harry’s in La Jolla. It’s always a good hang plus the food is superb!

The every other Monday night trio gig at Calypso has been a fantastic ride. Every now and then there’s too much dinner talking but for the most part we’ve had some excellent nights of music. Last time was stellar with clarinetist Evan Christopher sitting in on some transcendental jams. It was a great night of music! The Calypso gig is kicking in on this Monday night and hope to see you there.

On Thursday I’m leaving for Germany to play a concert with Larry Coryell. I did this gig last year and it was a hoot and a half. Larry jams serious and also laughs a lot. It’s a long way to go but I’m into it. Do you know anyone over in Germany circa de Frankfurt? Let them know it’s taking place and pass along the deets below.

cool beans, Peter
