Greeting Good Folks, coming to you early in the morning with the tales O’ SpragueLand. It was a hectic flow there for a bit culminating on an inspired concert at the Tango del Rey playing Metheny’s music. Man, I loved that show! The band was tearing it up and it was great having Barnaby Finch in the loop too.  The Tango del Rey is a wonderful sounding room with ultra trippy décor, solid car parking opportunities and a good husband and wife team running the whole enterprise. Stoke to have another room to pull off some creative music and we’ll definitely be returning there for more concerts…

The next day after the Metheny concert my family and I drove up to the Sequoia National Park for some “let the details go” time. Fantastic! The view from Moro Rock was a real highpoint. To offset the heat wave we spent a fair amount of the vacation submerged in the cool clear waters of the flowing river. It was good touching base with the big trees too. Hello General Sherman!

Here is me doing the tree pose in front of General Sherman and fully embarrasing my teenage daughter Kylie.
On top of Moro Rock with Kylie, Stef and myself.

For this week I’m returning to the Roxy for some solo guitar music on Thursday night. Come by if you can for some guaranteed fun...

Friday night we’ll trek to Dizzy’s to play a night of Gunnar Bigg’s music celebrating his new CD “Footprint”. The whole band will be there and it’ll be cool to play through Gunnar’s tunes again.

We’re teaming up with vocalist Kevyn Lettau on Saturday night for a show in downtown Escondido in front of the Escondido Library. The band will be Kevyn, myself along with Gunnar on bass and Duncan on drums. They’ve got a whole stage and sound system in place and we’re breaking out a new version of Joni’s “California” for the show. Good times ahead and hope to see you there...

That’s it for now. Stay barreled!
