Dear Friends, we’re rounding the bend for this year and coming up is the Annual Christmas Eve show. The tradition is long and reaches back to our early roots growing up in Del Mar. I’ll bet we’ve been doing this every year for the last 25 years. I know we missed one year ‘cuz it was raining like crazy but otherwise we’ve gathered the troupes and continued the exploration of the American Christmas song (jazzed doctored of course). Hey, anyone know what the weather is going to be like this year on Christmas Eve? Let me know if I should bring my swimming trunks or should it be mittens and boots?
The plan is to play the first set with an augmented version of our Pass The Drum group, take a break and catch up with all of our friends, and then launch into a second set that’ll feature some special guests. I know Fred Benedetti’s daughters have a plan to sing some, my daughter Kylie and her friend have a tune in mind, Tripp’s daughter Kate has been working up a Beatles tune, and then for sure we’ll get a three dimensional all audience version of Jingle Bells cooking along. It sounds fun to me and I sure hope you can make it out. Bring the whole extended family and let them see how us Californians take on the big day!

Also for this week, myself along with vocalist Coral MacFarland Thuet and bassist Gunnar Biggs will play at the Inn L’Auberge. I played there last weekend and not only was the gig huge fun but the Inn is spruced up for Christmas and is a complete visual treat. All of this plus some free cookies and apple cider were on hand. That ought to be a clincher to come hear Coral sing some Brazilian beauties all the while your sugar needs get met...
Hope to see you out there, Peter

This is our annual show where we set up in the outdoor amphitheatre at the corner of 15th Street and the Coast Highway in Del Mar. Unbelievable fun complete with jazzed up Christmas tunes and creative excursions involving musos that are in town for a visit and young musos that might be related to us. I hope you can make it... |
