Friends, we were playing in front of the dartboard at the classic Del Dios Bar and Grill last weekend. Any bad notes delivered, the audience had the right to throw a dart. Luckily we came away unscathed and musical nourished with another night of jazz music. What a great life!

From there the script lead us to the Grove in South Park. What an incredible evening that was. The music really went to some new places and also note worthy was the concert raised $4500 for the McKinley School music program. What this means in the real world is that now they can buy a couple of saxes and a trumpet. Give them a couple years but hopefully someday they’ll introduce us to the next Charlie Parker and Miles Davis. The ride continues on…

Yesterday maestro Andy Villas-Boas arrived at my studio with his cavaquino in hand and together we mapped the flow for this weeks Jobim concert. It’s a difficult task culling through a pile of classic samba charts written by such a hero and then having to narrow it down to just one evening’s worth—there are so many great songs this event could last a whole week! Alas, we figured it out and selected our favorites and we’ll happily present this music for us all to celebrate “No More Blues”—an homage to the legendary Brazilian maestro Antonio Carlos Jobim. I hope to see you there…

And also for this week we gather the Sprague family plus creative Leonard for an excursion at Ki's. Join us for the one long set next to the pacific...

happy trails, Peter
