Friends, greetings from SpragueLand! I’ve been holed up for the last couple of days lassoing creative music thoughts and committing them to pencil and paper (actually bypassing this mode of transcription and going directly to computer). I’m writing some new music for the String Consort group. After our last Idyllwild show and after the release of the Wild Blue, I felt it was time to start searching out new sonic colors and artistic challenges. So far I’ve got a wild piece taking shape and I can’t wait to hear it the worthy hands of the Consort…

My upcoming performance schedule is now up to date and listed down below. I’m thrilled to be heading to NYC at the end of October to play with Dianne Reeves and the group at Lincoln Center. Also, were off to the Caribbean in November to play a jazz festival, again with Dianne and the group. Add into this mix my great local hits including the ongoing Roxy Revolution — one of the coolest gigs ever!

For this week we’re playing a show at a new venue for us, The Bernardo Winery in Rancho Bernardo. I hear it’s a great scene for music and the big thrill is to connect again with vocalist Lisa Hightower. She’s one of my favorites and we haven’t played together for a while. I hope you can make it out for the good times.

That’s it and stay well, Peter
