Hi Folks, hope all is working in your circle. I’ve been working on some solo guitar tunes and I’ve got that cooking for this week along with a hit at Dizzy’s playing the music of Pat Metheny.
Pat’s music is some of my favorite and it’s always a good time for us focusing an evening into his sphere. Something unique we have going on is my friend Randy Phillips has written lyrics to a whole collection of Pat’s tunes. This is new, as 90% of his music is instrumental and to hear our very own Leonard singing into these great songs makes me happy. For this show we’ve added “Are You Going With Me?”, “Lone Jack”, “Facing West” as well as a lyric version of “In Her Family”. Also my brother Tripp is in the mix with us for this show and along with playing sax and flute I think he’s going to play chromatic harp on Pat’s “Beat 70”—a collection of fast notes and a bunch of them too. Good luck amigo! I hope you can make it to Dizzy’s to hear us launch the MethenyMusic…
Also for this week I’ll be playing solo guitar at The Beach House in Cardiff and The Roxy in Encinitas. Hope to see you out there…
