Old school Brazil! Astrud Gilberto is singing the Beach Samba with those classic Don Sebesky arrangements. The flute solo is leading me right in to filling you in on the latest “Tales ‘O SpragueLand.”

Our west coast tour of the strings was enormous fun. The Tango gig kicked it off with the band cooking and a great enthusiastic audience. The next night was at Vitello’s in Studio City and it was fun to reconnect with some old dear friends. After a day off we played the last hit at the Samueli Theatre at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. Wow, what a venue —perfect sound, super helpful folks and great backstage food for the band. It was like the treatment I get while touring with Dianne Reeves. Life, riding smooth on the suspension of affluence. I’m in!

I’m playing a bunch this week and it starts with me playing solo tonight at The Boathouse in Coronado. This place has a great vibe and the view of the harbor is right up there.

Tomorrow evening will be the Roxy World with me and my guitar supplying the soundtrack to the good life in North County. See ya there for a smoothie.

On Saturday evening I’m playing a concert with flutist Beth Ross-Buckley as part of her Camarada Concert Series. The group will be Beth, Fred Benedetti, Gunnar Biggs and myself. Beth has an amazing sound and I can’t wait to play in this beautiful art gallery. Hope to see you there.

We're all wearing blue shirts and this along with finding rehearsal time was a true monumental hurrdle to cross. After that, playing a string of 32nd notes is a cakewalk! From left to right, Peter, Gunnar, Beth and Fred.

The week ends with a daytime gig at the Encinitas Street Fair on Sunday. I’m stoked to be playing with Tripp and Leonard on this one. Leonard has been tucked away singing nightly at the “Mix Tape” show and hasn’t been able to join us on our gigs until now. The concert is free and kids are cool too.

There it is and thanks for tuning in, Peter
