Hola Good Folks, just starting to get the sand off my feet after a fantastic ocean focused trip to Cabo. The low end avatar Bob Magnusson and I ventured to the tip of Baja for a few live shows and as per our contract, 2 surf sessions per day in 75 degree water were required fare to keep this show running. We met up with the Argentinean drummer Pedro Cervera who played beautifully. The setup was amazing with the wild blue pacific at our backs and the waves breaking on the shore keeping the sonic palette pure. I loved it and I can’t wait to get back… Get back, get back to where you once belonged…

This was the view from our house. Pretty easy situation for decompression...
At the gig with Mag on the left, Pedro in the middle and Pedro S. on the right...
Eating dinner before the gig starts with wild blue as our backdrop...
At the end of the gig with Bob, Peter and Pedro...

Vocalist Kevyn Lettau has been in the Philippines doing promo work plus a few shows for our "What Is Enough" recording. We’re hoping that this leads to a big tour with fancy food and shiny cars zipping us around. We’re also hoping that anything at all surfaces in this flux world of music business insanity. The truth will float to the top eventually and for now it’s worth enjoying the current ride. Adding into the current ride is a distribution company in Japan agreeing to take on our CD and spread the good word. We’ll see how that plays. It’s getting better all the time...

I’m thrilled to leak the news about Gunnar Biggs’ first recording debut “footprint” currently hitting the streets. Gunnar has been in our band for the last several years and his fantastic playing and stellar vibe are essential ingredients for the music revolution we’ve been cultivating. He’s been the consummate support muso for many bands and it’s super cool to see him taking on the role of bandleader and composer and putting this wonderful project out there. We recorded it here at my studio and he’s included some great players into the loop. Bravo! Please click here for more details. Dig it and dig a pony...

The hand tells it all...

And this brings us to now. For the last couple of days we’ve been happily holed up in SpragueLand recording the music for the upcoming String Consort project. The band is on fire, the music is tricky, the food is amazing (thanks Stef), the laughs are many, the concentration is high and the days are long. We’re about 3⁄4 of the way there and we’re hoping to have the CD out in July. Endless thanks to those of you that have supported our trip with your donations and it makes the ride all that much easier. Muchas! I'm fixing a hole where the rain gets in...

Me spending 3/4 of my life tuning the guitar. Why don't they stay in tune?

Bob telling the story about how close a shark came to him in Cabo. Or maybe he's just pleading with me to take some of the notes out of the ten page / triple coda arrangements...

And finally folks, there isn’t much live stuff going on for me this week but I’m enthusiastically heading to the Roxy tomorrow night to rekindle the falafel—north county music hang for some solo guitar with savoy truffle for dessert. Hope to see you there...Ringo
