The Summer Continues! Today was special. Me and my fellow Pass The Drummians met up in the morning at the fully AIR CONDITIONED SpragueLand Studio and did a spin through the tunes for this weeks outdoor Point Loma concert. We detailed out some of the older ones in the book and had Coral singing Stevie's "Bird of Beauty" which is new territory for her. From there, we employed master photo man and upside down artist Sam Sprague to document the bands image at this stage of the game. Here we are, rehearsed up and ready for lunch. Life is good at SpragueLand.

Stage two was a lunchtime hit followed by some surf time with Tommy, Tripp, Sam and myself. Big choppy bumps out there but the water was warm and the sun was shinning. Good times! And here you have said master upside down artist Sam Sprague digesting his food before hitting the wild blue. Weird young fellow...

All of this leading to this weeks FREE outdoor concert in Point Loma. See the details below. The band is hot, the weather is hotter, and the summer is continuing on. I hope to see you there!

Also, my dear friend and Pass The Drum bandmate Coral has a predicament going in her life. Here is her note and maybe someone out there might have the right stuff.

Dear family and friends:
Some of you are already know about this, but I want to give you more information about 7 year old Dante Banchetti, son of my niece and nephew Martita and Alberto and my sister Martha MacFaraland de Pena's grandson.

The bad news is that Dante has Leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant.  Unfortunately, his siblings and parents are not a match.  Because of this, we are asking all those who are willing and able to be bone marrow donors to please go get a DNA and blood test as soon as possible to see if you are a match for a bone marrow transplant.  Your blood type does not matter, but you must be between 18 and 60 years old, be in good health and have never had hepatitis.  PLEASE SEND THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE ON YOUR EMAIL LIST.

EVENT
The Los Angeles City of Hope hospital will be in San Diego to do DNA and Bone Marrow Testing Sunday, August 6.
Blood and DNA test for Bone Marrow Donations
Sunday, Aug. 6
9 AM to 2 PM
Bonita/Sunnyside Fire Station
4900 Bonita Road (between Central & Otay Lakes Rd)
(619)421-4978 (fire department)
(619)421-4978 (Martita and Alberto Banchetti)

The San Diego Padres have donated some items and we will have a free raffle at the event.  We will have live music, refreshments, balloons and a lot of fun.  The advantage of getting tested that day is that it will only take 2 weeks to get the results.  Through the regula donation process at the blood bank it takes 2 months.  If you can't be there August 6, PLEASE get it done anyway at the blood bank at another time.  If you go to the blood bank, please tell them you want to be in the "Bone Marrow Registry" and let them know if you are a blood relative.  It is important to know that you will be in the national bone marrow registry.

Name:  Dante Banchetti
DBA:  January 14, 1999
Address:  4290 Acacia Avenue, Bonita, CA  91902

That's what I know for now.
all the best,
Peter
