Hi Friends, it’s the start of February, the sun is out and Joao Bosco is filling the air with insane samba. Not sure what he’s singing about but I assure you it’s rhythmic as all get out and the vibe is stellar. “Papel Marche” out to be declared a national anthem of somewhere—maybe Leucadia!

Big News! Geoffrey Keezer and I have been playing some great live shows over the last year and half and we’re thrilled to announce today the release of our first CD together. It’s called “Mill Creek Road” and features Geoffrey on piano, me on the guitar, Hamilton Price on bass and Duncan Moore on drums. Geoffrey and I each wrote new music for the occasion and the music travels from Geoffrey’s straight-ahead swinger “En Babia”, which captures the essence of the classic Wes Montgomery quartet, to my tune “India Zach”, a kinetic acoustic world-fusion romp with tabla drums, to Keezer's “Etendue”, a gorgeous short story that brings to mind the Pat Metheny Group in its heyday. We’re digging this new recording and stoked to let it float into the real world. Click here to find out more and to have a listen.

If its all working on your senses correctly we’d love you to venture further and purchase the bad boy. You can do so off of my site as well as from CD Baby. Let the credit cards be liberated!

Over the weekend we had the on-staff crew at SpragueLand carry out a mass shipping of the new "Mill Creek Road" cd out to 220 radio stations nationwide. (We're planning on taking over the world in case you're wondering). Here is my wife Stefanie on the right with her mom Ann on the left and together they pulled off the impossible—details, stamps, bubble wrap, envelopes, sticky address labels and all of it with a smile intact!

Here's the youngest member of the SpragueLand Shipping Department. Our daughter Kylie sat in this chair staying warm with our dog Rocky on her lap and together they "oversaw" the whole promotion effort.

There it is folks, the bubble wrap, the cool "one sheets" and the item of which all of the noise is about— the CD!

A couple of weeks back we played a free concert with my string group at the Encinitas Community Center. A bunch of folks came to the show and if you are one of them we’d love to hear back from you via a quick email on how it went. This concert was funded by the The City of Encinitas and Mizel Family Foundation Community Grant Program and they like to get feedback on how it’s working. Here are a few questions:

How was the venue (Encinitas Community Center) for the concert?
What did you think of the music program?
Do you have any suggestions for future music programs?

Thanks for this.

And up this week for live music, first off, the ongoing Tuesday night solo gig at the L’Auberge in Del Mar has been discontinued—so no music tonight folks. This is fine with me, it was a good run but it’s also nice to not barrel down the freeway on Tuesdays at 5PM and instead, catch the evening glass-off at Beacons leading into a quiet evening at home. Life is sweet!

The Thursday night Roxy gig flows infinitely and this I love! See you there for a evening of great North County vibes, food and music.

I’m playing Ki’s on Friday and Saturday night this week. We played there last Friday and had a bunch of fun—great scene, food and hang zone. For this week I’ll play Friday night with Blurring the Edges which is guitarist Fred Benedetti, my brother Tripp on sax and flute and myself on guitar. We live in the sonic environs of Brasil, Spain, Barstow and Liverpool—come travel with us!

For Saturday evening at Ki’s it’ll be me along with vocalist Lisa Hightower and bassist Gunnar Biggs. Together we had a great long run at the Inn L in Del Mar and honed a cool trio sound that we can’t wait to explore once again. Check out Lisa’s version of “Lush Life” and the way she phrases silence into the mix. Pretty special stuff!

That’s if folks and thanks for the read, Peter
