Dear Everyone, I’m sending along the news as Dexter Gordon plays the minor blues in the background. He’s got the laid back groove with perfect lines weaving through the whole history of the Blue Note era. It’s a nice moment at SpragueLand.

All last week I found myself cranking out music in the studio and managed to fit in daily late afternoon ocean interludes—striving to balance out the digital details of Pro Tools with the negative ions evaporating off the wild blue. It worked I think as I’m still alive and still inspired of spending more time in the studio. SpragueLand marches on!

Up for tonight I’m heading off to hear Pat Metheny play at Anthology. He’s with his quartet and I’m digging the record so hearing him in real-time ought to lift it off the map.

For tomorrow night I’m all set to be back at The Roxy in Encinitas for solo guitarismo. Come on down and hang if you can.
