Hola Fine People, coming to you this time from a strange blend of rock and roll and chamber music. I’ve been shedding like a madman preparing myself for this weeks gig with Billy Child’s and his chamber group playing an ultra complex collection of notes and rhythms. Mix that in with the big news of the upcoming show at the Birch North Park Theatre called “Love In”. The same folks who put together last years “Primal Twang” event have created a new happening and in this show the 40 years since the Summer of Love is being celebrated in fine rock fashion. My brother Tripp is in the horn section and the Rockola guys are in there along with an amazing gang of hard hitters plus Kartik Seshadri playing Indian ragas. Pianist Doug Robinson is the musical director and actor Ben Vereen is the storyteller weaving words and myths into the musical segments. I can’t wait! Last years “Twang” was a most memorable event from both my perspective as a player as well as the times I sat in the audience to take in the other musicians performances. My whole gang and I are heading down on opening night and it should be a cool scene. Also, the “Primal Twang” DVD is finally done and they’re going to have copies for sale at the “Love In” show…

For this week we’re assembling the tribe for some deluxe North County sounds at Parioli’s Restaurant in Solana Beach. This gig has turned into one of our favorite hangs. It’s close, the owners are soulful, they cook up some wonderful pasta, and the music has a good home in the creative environment of Parioli’s patio. Later in the week I’m heading to LA for the Billy Childs gig and it’ll be some magic…

that’s it, Peter
