Hola la gente feliz!

It’s been an intense week arranging music and gearing up for a bunch of upcoming concerts. I've felt inspired to pull together a few rehearsals and learn some new tunes with the band. I’ve been playing these tunes solo lately but now its time to expand outwards into 3D. Superpsychedelicized!

Tonight we’re playing at a new venue in Carlsbad. It’s the Twenty/20 Grill at the SHERATON CARLSBAD RESORT. It’ll be my trio with Bob Magnusson on bass and Duncan Moore on drums. I hope to see you there if you can pull it off.

Next up on Saturday night it’s Kevyn Lettau and me with our ongoing monthly weekend gig at the Roxy in Encinitas. It's always fun and there will be a wonderful collection of friends, endless food and of course, creative music.

On Sunday night I get to finally play a gig with my brother Tripp! I’ve been gigging so much solo style lately and it’ll be great to hear him play and catch his cool vibe. We’ve got the quartet assembled for this one and we’re playing my new tunes at a first rate theatre. You could hear a pin drop I imagine. Check the details below.

Last up for the week is our ongoing bi-monthly Monday night trio sesh at The Calypso in Leucadia. What a killer vibe going on there! The SOUND is excellent and believe me folks, this makes me so happy. For a good part of the time, the actual SOUND of music in clubs or restaurants is ultra-compromised to be kind. To be real, it’s just a sonic stew of low end rumble mixed the high end clank factor of glass and silverware, all leaching the essential magic from the music itself. Urrrggghhh.

Well that's not the case at our favorite Calypso! Great sound, close to my home, the trio is wicked cool and if you order your food before 7PM, it’s a lot less dough as their happy hour extends up until that time. You’ve got to make the trek to hear what I’m saying….

The totally cool vibe at The Calypso in Leucadia. Jimi is behind us making sure it stays funky and real!
