Hi Folks, I’m thawing out as I write to you. I returned from our San Francisco gigs late last eve and today after our morning rehearsal I snuck in a surf session. Unreal waves, blue and clear and COLD—it’s great to be partially submerged once again!

We had a fantastic time in Nor Cal. A lot of driving that transported us to four concerts with a bunch of enthusiastic listeners—Road Work Ahead lives again! What a great band playing new music, telling stories, deluxe dinners in the wine country, a magic Whole Foods in Sebastopol rendezvous with rain and real live hippies, a sunny afternoon walk in Saint Helena, and most of all, thoroughly inspiring music. We’re carrying on the revolution next week in San Diego and Los Angeles. Look below for concert details.

Road Work Ahead piling into the van that transported us up to San Francisco. From left to right, Jim Plank, Bob Magnusson, Peter and Bill Mays. We had our trusty Surfer's Journal magazines to keep the dream alive.

Our rehearsal this morning included Tripp, Gunnar, Duncan and me and we set out to address the sonic details for our concert tomorrow night at The Loft at UCSD in La Jolla. I’ve recently arranged Dr. Einstein’s Spin Suite for the jazz quartet and we’re giving it a whirl at tomorrows show. I think it’ll be a good one and look below for details if you’re thinking of coming.

On Thursday night we’re playing a show with the String Group in Del Mar but I’m told it’s already sold out. Sorry about that if you we’re hoping to attend. We’ll play more concerts further downwind.

The last gig of the week is on Saturday night at Harry’s in La Jolla with Tripp, Bob Magnusson and me. It’s always a fun hang there and the food is great.

That’s it for now, stay well and stay submerged!

all best, P
