Friends, I hope this note finds you well. My summertime in Encinitas leads me to two of my favorite haunts—The Roxy and the Coyote. Both classic loose hangs with a few suspect details slipping by the doorman. There have been a lot of good notes played here, some bad ones too. Lets not forget the time that the power amp blew and what we got was Frampton distortion on the complete mix, vocals included. But along with that came the times where the clock stopped it’s arc and the plod factor that sometimes glues life down was lifted and the music had a chance to fly free. That’s when all the years of scales and sketchy club owners get evened out in the mix.

For this week I’m playing both the Roxy and the Coyote and sure looking forward to it. Hope to see you out there….

best, Peter
