Hey Friends, today I’m listening to the great flute solo by Joe Farrell on Chick Corea’s tune “Dear Alice” from his 1978 recording called “Mad Hatter.” This is the same record where there’s a whack out version of “Who stole the tarts, was it the Queen of Hearts?” I’ll never forget that.

I went last night to hear Chick and Gary Burton play at Anthology and the music was incredible and prompted me to re-listen to some of my older favorite Chick sonic excursions. The interplay between Chick and Gary was off the map and the color of piano and vibes is magic. They are playing tonight too so check it out if you can.

It’s a happy day and our very own Mill Creek Road release continues to zip up the charts to #8 this week.

This photo was taken from a gig that I played with Chick at Disneyland back in the 80's. Talk about "Who stole the tarts"!

I’m leaving next week for a concert in Germany with guitarist Larry Coryell. It’s a long ways to travel for a 2 hour set but what a thrill to play some solo guitar and then team up with a true master of the six strings. If you know any folks living near Frankfurt please pass the word.

For shows this week we’re assembling the String Consort Group for a gig at The Merc in Temecula on Thursday night.  I’ve been busy composing music for the group for some further down the road shows and it’ll be good to connect with the gang tomorrow and remember just how well they play. The Merc is a great place for live music and it’s a true listening venue with every seat up close. Hope you can make it!

Here we are rehearsing the music. It takes a lot of going over to get things right.

On Friday night I’ll be playing at Ki’s in Cardiff with vocalist Keyvn Lettau and bassist Gunnar Biggs. Keyvn’s been recording some new music with a great L.A. band led by Russell Ferante and it sounds so good! Looking forward to connecting with her again.

On Saturday night I’ll be at Ki’s again and it’ll be Gunnar, myself plus a new guitarist and vocalist who just moved to town named Ira Gonzalez. He sat in one night and sounded fantastic and we rehearsed some Brazilian gems yesterday and we’re all set for a night of great music. Come by for some classic food and good north county vibes!

That’s it friends and thanks for reading, Peter
